Installing IIS 8 on Windows server 2012

Windows 2012 is new and lots of changes are there accordingly, the user experience has changed as well since it has been built based on the Windows 8 platform.

Let’s see how to configure the IIS server by using the server manager.

  • Open the Server Manger
  • Under Manage menu, select Add Roles and Features.

  • Select the option “Role based or Feature based Installation”

  • Select the appropriate server. ( I’m selecting the local server)

  • Select Web Server (IIS) option.

  • If you require any additional features select it, for default installation other than .Net nothing is required.

  • Customize your IIS Installation, or accept the default setting that have already been selected for you, (I’m selecting some additional options like “Centralized SSL Certificated Support”) and click next.

  • Click install on the next screen.

  • Once the installation done it will show you the results.

  • Click close to exit the installation wizard.
